Neck Lift Surgery Methods

Neck Lift is a customized procedure that will be designed exclusively for each patient. Your plastic surgeon will evaluate your case and determine the surgery according to your needs.

Direct Neck Lift

The incision is placed underneath the chin to hide any scarring from view. After the incision is made, the neck’s skin will be elevated to expose the fat. Then, fat is removed directly or with liposuction. Once this is completed, the underlying platysma muscle is tightly bounded with sutures.

Secondly, the excess skin is removed with the technique called a vertical-z incision. It allows for the edges of the skin to flap out and fit together again.

Platysmaplasty

Platysmaplasty is a surgical reconstruction of the neck muscles. It is performed to rejuvenate the neck and under the chin. During the operation, the hidden incision is made at the beath of the chin. While the loosened platysma muscles are reduced and tightened by sutured into a single sheet of muscle, special endoscopic instruments are used to remove the excess fat. These muscles will be a resistant barrier to keep neckbands from forming.

Platysmaplasty moderates neck' aging. Therefore it is suitable for patients who are in their forties or fifties.

Cervicoplasty

Cervicoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin underneath the chin or neck. The operation area is infiltrated with lidocaine and epinephrine solution to make fat cell removal easier.

During the surgery, small and hidden z-plasty incisions will be made. Then a small suction probe will be used for the suction.

Cervicoplasty mostly does not recommend the patient, has a significant amount of excess fat, and more severe aging signs. The main reason is that Cervicoplasty is a minimally invasive method.
