Istanbul, Turkey — No Strip, No Linear Scar
Every Follicle Comes Out One at a Time. That Is the Whole Technique
Punches under a millimetre wide. No strip, no linear scar, and a donor area that heals as pinpoint dots. Three packages from €1,600, up to 7,000 grafts, six to eight hours under local anaesthetic — and the result at nine to twelve months, not before.
FUE cases from our Istanbul facility, with written consent, each dated. Look at the donor area in the last one as well as the hairline — that is the half nobody photographs. Results vary widely.

Recorded with consent, none of them filmed before month nine. Two were told a smaller graft number than they came in asking for.

A punch under a millimetre wide is placed around a follicular unit, the unit is lifted out, and the process repeats a few thousand times. No strip is cut, nothing is stitched, and the donor area heals as scattered dots rather than a line. Everything else on this site except FUT is a variation on this.

Shaved · local anaesthetic · one day
Six to eight hours in one day under local anaesthetic, given by ultra-fine needle or by needleless sedation gas. Follicular units are extracted individually from the back and sides, held while recipient channels are opened, then placed at the angle and direction the surrounding hair grows in. The head is shaved, and the donor area heals over the following weeks into pinpoint dots that disappear under short hair.
You want the widest graft range available and do not mind the head being shaved for a couple of weeks.
Graft ceiling: Up to 6,000 as published at package level — the highest of any technique here. Your own number is set by your donor density. The session: 6–8 hours, one day, local anaesthetic. Most patients are back at work within a few days.

Education
Turkey does more hair transplants than anywhere else, and that cuts both ways. The volume buys real expertise and real savings — and it also fills the market with clinics selling graft counts no donor area can support. Ask who holds the punch before you ask what it costs.

Theatres, recovery and aftercare in the same building, not a subcontracted hospital.

1,020,000 international operations were performed in Turkey in 2023. Volume is the honest advantage.

Lower operating costs, not lower standards. The same procedure runs £3,000–£10,000 in the UK.

If your donor area cannot spare 6,000 grafts, we will not quote you 6,000 grafts.

Ask what happens when the transplanted hair falls out. It will, and it is normal.
FUE is the baseline technique: sub-millimetre punches, no strip, full shave.
Classic FUE needs donor and recipient shaved; if that's a problem, DHI or unshaven is discussed instead.
Each follicular unit is lifted with a micro-punch, leaving pinpoint marks rather than a line.
Unlike DHI, classic FUE opens every recipient slit in advance, then technicians seat the harvested grafts into those ready-made openings.
Tiny extraction sites close in a few days and vanish once the shaved donor grows back to stubble length.
FUE is the technique the others are built on. Here is what it involves, what it costs and how it heals.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a hair transplant technique in which follicular units are removed one by one with a micro-punch less than one millimetre wide and placed into channels opened in the thinning area. It leaves no strip and no linear scar, and most other transplant methods are variations built on it.
FUE extracts individual follicular units, leaving scattered pinpoint marks that disappear under a few millimetres of hair. FUT removes a strip of scalp and leaves a linear scar at the back of the head. FUE is the standard choice unless a very large graft number or a depleted donor area makes FUT more suitable.
FUE suits patients with pattern hair loss, a healthy donor area and no objection to shaving, since classic FUE shaves both the donor and recipient areas. It offers the widest graft range of the available techniques. Patients who cannot shave are usually guided towards DHI or an unshaven transplant instead.
Four of the five other techniques extract exactly as this page describes. If shaving is the sticking point, start with DHI or the unshaven page.
Personalised Care, Just for You
Send photographs of the front, top, crown and back of your head. A surgeon replies with the graft number your donor area can actually spare, which of the six techniques it calls for, what it costs with hotel and transfers included, and how long the result will take. Including when the honest answer is fewer grafts than you hoped for, or medication before surgery. No obligation, no cost.
