A canthoplasty divides the lateral canthal tendon at the outer corner and fixes it to a higher point on the orbital rim, so the corner sits up and the eye reads longer. A canthopexy only tightens the same tendon without dividing it; the difference is the release, and it is decided at examination.

A fox eye lift is a cosmetic procedure that lifts the outer part of the eyebrow and the outer corner of the eye area to create a more elongated, almond-shaped appearance. It targets the tail of the brow rather than the whole forehead, producing a subtle upward tilt.
