Type penis enlargement into a search engine and the adverts arrive fast. Plus five centimetres. Permanent. No downtime. Some of them even show a ruler. We understand why men click. We'd just rather you heard the less exciting version before booking anything, including with us.

Penis enlargement in Turkey, done properly, is two separate operations. One adds girth with your own fat. The other cuts a ligament, letting more of the shaft hang free. Each is a genuine operation with genuine limits. Neither one is what the adverts are selling. What follows takes the common beliefs one by one.

"Surgery can add inches to an erection"

This is the belief that causes the most disappointment, so it goes first.

The length operation cuts the suspensory ligament, a band of tissue that tethers the penis up against the pubic bone. With it released, part of the shaft that used to sit hidden inside the body drops forward. When you're soft, that can look noticeably longer. When you're erect, the gain is usually small, sometimes barely measurable.

There's a cost, too. That ligament is what holds an erection pointing upward. Without it, erections often point more forward or downward, and some men find that awkward during sex. It doesn't reverse. Published satisfaction with length surgery is poor, and we say that in the consultation rather than leaving you to discover it.

Some surgeons ask men to use a stretching device for a few months afterwards, so the released tissue doesn't heal back up short. If that applies to you, it'll be in your plan.

"Fat transfer gives a permanent, even result"

Girth surgery is the more satisfying of the two for most men, but it still isn't predictable to the millimetre.

Surgeons collect fat by liposuction, usually from the stomach or inner thighs, clean it and thread it in thin layers around the shaft. Transplanted fat needs a new blood supply, and not every bit of it gets one. Whatever doesn't is broken down and absorbed by the body in the months that follow, mostly before month six. So the surgeon overfills on purpose, and the first few weeks look bigger than the end result will.

Most of the time the fat settles smoothly. Not always, though. Occasionally the fat gathers into small lumps under the skin. Or the left side ends up a touch thicker than the right. A second, smaller top-up session later is one way men deal with that. And since grafted fat is still fat, it swells with any big weight gain and shrinks again if you lose it.

"Fillers do the same job without surgery"

Hyaluronic acid filler is injected along the shaft by some clinics and marketed under the same name. It's temporary, it can migrate or form lumps, and it isn't surgery. We don't offer it. Nor do we offer PRP or shockwave therapy for size.

Injections of silicone, paraffin or petroleum jelly are a different level of danger altogether. They're usually done in back rooms, sometimes at home. The result can be rock-hard lumps and badly damaged skin, and repairing it may take more than one operation. If someone offers you a cheap injection for size, walk away.

Girth or length: which one actually bothers you?

Men usually arrive talking about length. Keep the conversation going for ten minutes, and quite often it turns out to be something else. Some realise it's thickness they notice most, in the shower or in their own hand. Others find it's how things look when they're soft, in a changing room, that really gets to them.

Which one it is decides the operation. Girth surgery changes both soft and erect thickness. Length surgery mostly changes the soft appearance. If what bothers you is the soft look in front of other men, a length release might genuinely help. If it's erect length during sex, it probably won't, and it's better to know that before you fly to Turkey than after.

Both in one session?

You can have girth and length done in the same operation, and the price stays the same. It does mean a longer anaesthetic and more swelling afterwards. The six-week recovery doesn't get longer for doing both. Still, some men would rather try girth first. At six months they look again and decide whether length is worth adding. Both routes are fine.

Measured first

Here's a figure worth knowing: average erect length is about 13 centimetres. Plenty of men are surprised by that. Years of comparing themselves with porn had them expecting something much bigger, and most who ask us about penis enlargement surgery turn out to be well within the normal range.

So before anything else, out comes the tape. Length is taken soft and again gently stretched. Girth gets measured too. Every figure goes into your notes. If surgery makes sense, the plan states the gain the surgeon expects, in millimetres rather than adjectives. If you're given only words like "significant" or "noticeable", you haven't been given an estimate.

For some men, that measurement changes everything. Being told plainly, by someone who examines penises for a living, that you're ordinary can settle a worry that years of reassurance from partners never did.

Who we'd advise against surgery

Some men are better off without this operation, and we'll say so.

If your measurements are within the normal range and nothing else is wrong, surgery for dissatisfaction alone isn't something we'd push. If your weight is going up and down, fat grafting will be unpredictable. Maybe the real issue is erections rather than size. That's another conversation entirely. Some men think about their size for hours a day, and no reassurance sticks. If that's you, see a doctor or psychologist before a surgeon. Surgery rarely brings that kind of worry to an end.

The risks, plainly

Expect bruising. For a week or two things can look swollen and discoloured, sometimes alarmingly so. Infection is possible, as with any surgery. With the length procedure, the scar where the penis meets the body can tighten as it heals. In a small number of men that pulls the shaft back in and undoes some of the gain.

Sensation sometimes changes for a while, usually returning as swelling settles. Uneven or lumpy fat, as above, is the commonest complaint after girth surgery. None of this is meant to scare you off. It's the list you should expect any honest surgeon to go through.

Getting ready at home

Smokers heal more slowly, and fat grafts are especially fussy about blood flow. Giving up well before your penis enlargement in Turkey gives the graft a fairer chance of taking. We'll want to know every medicine and supplement you take, since some thin the blood. Planning girth surgery? A weight that's held steady for a few months beats a crash diet the month before. And pack soft, loose trousers for the flight home.

The day itself and four nights in Istanbul

It's done under general anaesthetic as a day case, so there's no night on the ward. You're back at your hotel that evening with a dressing and, often, a light compression wrap. The full stay is around four nights in Istanbul, which leaves time for a wound check before you fly.

For the next few days you mostly rest. Wear loose underwear. Keep it clean. Resist the urge to keep checking the swelling.

Recovery: the weeks and months after

Swelling hangs around for about six weeks. That's also how long sex has to wait. Not four, however good you feel by then. Hard training at the gym is on hold for the same stretch. If you've had a length release, the surgeon may ask you to start the stretching routine during this time.

Results from girth surgery can't be judged until the fat that won't survive has gone. That's why we measure you again at the six-month point and compare it with your starting figures.

Questions men ask before booking

Will it affect my erections? Girth surgery shouldn't change how erections work. Length surgery doesn't stop erections either, but as above, it usually changes their angle.

Will a partner notice the fat? Once it has settled, most say it just feels thicker. Lumps, if any form, may be noticeable to touch. Better to know that now.

Could anyone at work guess? Not if you wear normal trousers. The swelling in the first week is the only time it might show, and most men plan to be away for that week anyway.

Does it hurt? It's sore for a few days, more of an ache than sharp pain, and tablets usually handle it. Sitting for long periods is the least comfortable part of the flight home.

The result that counts is a measurement against your own starting point, taken at six months. Reviews in this field are rare and often anonymous. The ones worth reading mention numbers, and they're honest about the erection angle and any lumps.

Penis enlargement cost in Turkey

The penis enlargement price on our list is €3,000, the same whether you have girth, length or both in one session. It includes the general anaesthetic, four nights in Istanbul and airport pick-up. An interpreter is part of it, and so is a year's follow-up.

Going by the table above, comparable surgery runs from about €6,086 to €8,750 in the UK, averages €6,765 in Germany, and ranges from €8,177 to €16,393 in the US. When you compare, make sure you're comparing surgery with surgery. Filler injections are often sold under the same name for less, and they're not the same thing at all.
