Chin Liposuction in Istanbul · €2,500
Does your jawline disappear in photos taken from below?
Chin liposuction removes fat under the chin to sharpen the line between jaw and neck. The laser-assisted procedure under general anaesthesia is €2,500, with a short stay of about three nights in Istanbul and an elastic wrap for the first days.
The angle beneath the jaw becomes crisper in our chin liposuction before and after profiles. Give it a few weeks, as early puffiness blurs that line before it settles.

Natural Clinic has treated more than 100,000 patients from over 80 countries, and its facial surgery team performs submental liposuction alongside neck lift with platysmaplasty and chin implant surgery in the same building. That matters on this page specifically: a clinic that only offers liposuction has one answer available, and skin or muscle is the real problem often enough for that to matter. Accredited theatres and a dedicated anaesthesiology department sit in the same building.

Laser-assisted removal of the fat pad under the chin, through access points a few millimetres across. It treats fat and nothing else: where the skin will not retract a neck lift is the operation instead, and where the bone is short it is a chin implant.

Three nights, no hospital admission
A thin cannula works within the fat layer beneath the chin while the laser breaks the fat down, and the contour is checked as it goes rather than worked to a set volume. The skin then redrapes over the smaller contour on its own, which is why recoil is tested before anything is agreed.
A submental pad with skin that recoils and a jaw of normal projection. Where the fullness is loose skin or platysma banding, the answer is a neck lift.
Three nights in Istanbul, no hospital admission. A chin strap for the first weeks; the contour reads at about three months.

Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr Emre G. qualified in medicine at Uludağ University in 2007 and completed his specialist training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Bezmialem Vakıf University between 2008 and 2014, with a research post at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He has worked in both public hospitals and private practice, and the reconstructive half of that training shows in how he plans an aesthetic case. He practises at Natural Clinic in Istanbul.
Education
Yes, and what to verify is the assessment rather than the technique. Ask how your skin's recoil and your platysma will be checked before anyone agrees to operate, and what happens if those findings point elsewhere.

Chin liposuction works when neck skin can tighten on its own; otherwise a €4,000 neck lift is the better tool.
A profile photo with your head level shows whether the fullness is pinchable fat or hanging skin.
Small incisions under the chin, sometimes behind the earlobes, allow fat to be removed evenly along the jaw.
An elastic wrap around the jaw and crown of the head holds the neck skin against its new contour for the first days.
As swelling drains, the border between jaw and neck sharpens.
When chin liposuction is enough, and when a neck lift is the better choice.
Chin liposuction removes excess fat from beneath the chin and along the upper neck through tiny incisions, using a fine cannula. It sharpens the angle between the chin and neck and helps define the jawline, which is why it is sometimes called submental liposuction.
Chin liposuction suits people with soft, pinchable fat under the chin and good skin elasticity in the neck. It works best when fullness is caused mainly by fat rather than by loose skin or weak neck muscles, which need different treatment.
If the neck skin is loose, hangs when you look down or shows visible vertical muscle bands, removing fat alone may leave the neck looking slack. In these cases, a neck lift, which tightens muscle and removes skin, usually gives a better result.
Chin liposuction is priced as a liposuction zone at Natural Clinic, with liposuction starting from €2,500 for one zone. Your written plan confirms the exact price for your chin and any additional areas, along with what is included, before you travel.
A standalone neck lift at Natural Clinic costs €4,000, while chin liposuction is priced as a single liposuction zone starting from €2,500. Chin liposuction is often the less expensive option, but only suitable when the skin can tighten on its own.
Yes. Chin liposuction is sometimes combined with a facelift, neck lift or chin implant to improve the overall profile. Combining procedures can mean one anaesthetic and one recovery period, and your plan explains how the combination is priced. The surgeon considers how the procedures interact before recommending a combination.
Chin liposuction usually requires one small incision in the natural crease under the chin and sometimes tiny incisions behind each earlobe. These are only a few millimetres long and typically heal to become very difficult to see. Keeping the incisions clean and protected from sun helps them fade well.
Swelling, bruising and temporary numbness under the chin are the usual effects. Less often, the contour can look slightly uneven, and rarely the small nerve that moves the lower lip is irritated, causing temporary weakness of the smile. Careful, even fat removal reduces these risks, and most patients experience only short-lived swelling and bruising.
After fat is removed, the neck skin needs to contract to follow the new contour. Skin with good elasticity usually adapts well, while loose or sun-damaged skin may not tighten enough, which can leave a slack appearance. Your surgeon assesses skin quality during the consultation before recommending treatment.
Yes. Chin liposuction treats a small area and is usually one of the shorter liposuction procedures. The exact duration depends on the amount of fat and whether it is combined with other treatments, which your surgeon confirms in advance. Many patients combine it with other treatments during the same visit.
A chin strap is part of chin liposuction recovery. It is worn around the clock at first, then mainly at night, and it gently holds the neck skin against the jawline while swelling drains. Wearing it consistently helps prevent the skin from settling unevenly under the chin.
Swelling and some bruising under the chin and along the jaw are common in the first week, and the chin strap is noticeable when worn. Many people feel comfortable returning to work within about a week, once the most visible swelling has eased.
The difference between chin and neck starts to show within a couple of weeks as the treated fat pocket drains. Firmness and mild swelling under the jaw can persist for a few months, and the sharper profile is usually judged once these have resolved, often around the three-month mark.
The fat cells taken from under the chin are gone permanently, which is why a sharper profile usually lasts. Those that remain can still expand if you put on a lot of weight, so a steady weight is the best way to keep the jawline defined in the long term.
Chin liposuction mainly removes fat, although some skin contraction occurs as the area heals. It does not remove excess skin, so people with significant laxity may need a neck lift or skin-tightening treatment to achieve a firmer result. Your surgeon explains which approach suits your skin.
Neck lift and mini facelift are the operations that answer lax skin and platysma banding — the two findings that make liposuction the wrong choice here, and both cost more than this one. The chin implant answers weak projection.

The fat pad under the chin, removed with a laser-assisted cannula through two small access points — and the two findings that decide whether the operation suits you at all: whether your skin will redrape once the fat is gone, and whether the cords in your neck are muscle rather than fat.

It usually starts with a photo. Someone takes a picture from slightly below, or you catch yourself on a video call with the laptop on your knees, and there's no line between your chin and your neck. You might be slim. You might exercise. The fullness is still there.
That's the person chin liposuction in Turkey is most often for, whether they call it a double chin, submental fat or just "that bit under my face". The fat under the chin is one of the places genetics likes to store fat, and it's notoriously stubborn. Below we cover what the operation can do about it, how it compares with injections, and what the days afterwards look like.
The top of this page explains the three possible causes of fullness under the chin: fat, loose skin and the neck muscle. There's a fourth that's worth ruling out too. A chin that sits back makes the area below look fuller than it really is, and in that case moving the chin forward can do more than removing fat. Our chin surgery page goes into that.
When the fullness really is fat, the skin is still firm and the chin is a normal size, this is a small operation with a reliable result.
Injections that break down fat under the chin are widely offered, and for some people they're a reasonable choice. The best-known contains deoxycholic acid, a substance the body uses to digest fat. It's injected in a grid under the chin over several sessions, usually a month or more apart.
The trade-offs are real, though. Each session causes a few days of marked swelling, and most people need two to four of them, sometimes more. The total cost of a course can come close to surgery, and the change is gradual and harder to predict. There are also cheaper "fat-melting" injections sold under brand names with much less evidence behind them.
For a little fat, and a strong wish to avoid surgery, a dermatologist near you can talk you through a course. For a clearly defined fat pad, one session of liposuction removes it more completely and more predictably.
Partly, and it depends on what the jowl is made of. Some people have a small pocket of fat sitting just above the jawline that softens its edge. A little careful liposuction through the opening behind the earlobe can smooth that out, and it's often done during the same operation.
Most jowls, though, aren't really fat. They're skin and deeper tissue that have slipped down from the cheek with age, and suction can't lift anything back up. For those, the answer is a facelift, which repositions the tissue rather than removing it. If you're unsure which you have, mention the jowls when you send your photos and we'll tell you honestly.
You're asleep for it, under general anaesthetic, and it usually takes under an hour. The surgeon makes a tiny opening in the crease under the chin, and sometimes one behind each earlobe so the fat along the jawline can be reached evenly. A thin cannula works through the fat layer while a laser fibre breaks the fat down. Some surgeons think the heat from the laser encourages the skin to shrink a touch more. Maybe it does, a little. It won't rescue skin that's already lost its bounce.
The area is small, so fat comes out a little at a time, with the surgeon stopping often to look and feel. Nobody is chasing a number of millilitres here. What matters is how the line from chin to neck looks at the end.
This is the most important question, and it's the reason we take less rather than more. A neck that's had too much fat removed can look stringy and tight, with the muscle and cords showing through. That look can't be put right easily, because there's nothing left to work with.
A good result keeps a thin, even layer of fat under the skin. It looks like you, with a clearer jawline, not like someone who's had their neck vacuumed.
Most people who have chin liposuction in Turkey are somewhere between their twenties and their forties, with a fat pad that's been there for years regardless of weight. The common thread is skin that's still firm. Skin quality counts for far more than the date on your passport. We see people in their fifties with skin that will tighten beautifully, and the odd thirty-year-old whose skin won't.
A steady weight helps. Drop a lot of weight later and the skin here may end up looser; put a lot on and some fullness may return. Blood thinners, fish oil capsules and cigarettes all make bruising worse and healing slower, so let us know about any of them early.
They're tiny. The main entry point is a few millimetres long and sits in or just behind the natural crease under the chin, where it's hard to see even when you tip your head back. If the jawline is treated too, there may be one small mark behind each earlobe. They're pink for a few weeks and then usually fade to near invisibility.
Running along the bottom of the jawbone is a small nerve that works the muscle pulling your lower lip down. Bruise or stretch it, and your smile may sit a little crooked on one side for a while. The cannula is kept in the shallow fat layer partly to avoid it.
This doesn't happen often. When it does, the nerve nearly always recovers within weeks, occasionally a few months. We'd rather you heard about it from us now than discovered it later.
There's no overnight stay in hospital. You leave for your hotel the same day with an elastic strap running under your chin and up over your head, keeping the skin pressed to its new shape. You'll wear it almost continuously for the first week and often at night for a second.
The first few days bring swelling and some bruising that can spread down onto the neck. An extra pillow under your head at night keeps the swelling down. Around day ten, most people are comfortable going out, and plenty return to their desks.
Don't worry if the skin under your chin feels hard or a bit bumpy for some weeks. That's healing tissue, and it gradually softens. Numbness of the skin is common too and fades over the following months. The final shape is worth judging at about three months.
Men often grow a beard partly to hide this exact area, and plenty tell us they'd like to be able to shave without the soft line under the jaw showing. A well-defined jaw-to-neck angle is also one of the things that makes a male face look leaner overall.
Men's skin is usually thicker here, which helps it settle. The beard area is also forgiving of the small entry points, which tend to disappear completely in stubble. A few men also mention that shirt collars sit more comfortably afterwards.
Fat under the chin often comes with a short chin, and in those cases a chin implant and liposuction together give a better profile than either alone. Rhinoplasty is another common pairing, since nose and chin are judged together from the side. A combination discount applies.
If the skin turns out to be too loose, a neck lift replaces the liposuction rather than being added to it, because the neck lift deals with fat as well. For skin that's only borderline, the J-Plasma tightening treatment can be added for €1,500.
The fat cells taken out don't return, so at a steady weight the new line under your chin stays. What does change is your skin. As it ages over the following decades it can loosen. That calls for a lift, and more liposuction won't help.
Large weight gain can bring some fullness back, since the fat cells you have left can still grow. Most people who keep their weight broadly stable keep their result.
The chin liposuction price on our list is €2,500. Because the area counts as a single zone, the amount of fat taken out makes no difference to the bill. General anaesthesia, the laser and the chin strap are covered, as are your transfers and interpreter, with twelve months of check-ins afterwards.
Prices elsewhere are higher. The table above puts chin liposuction at €3,500 to €6,400 in the UK and €3,750 to €6,450 in the US. Whichever clinic you're weighing up, find out what the figure covers. And ask whether a surgeon has actually checked your skin and neck muscle, or simply quoted from a photo.
This is the shortest stay of any operation on our body surgery list. Day one is your arrival, consultation and examination. Surgery happens on day two, and you're back at the hotel by the afternoon. On day three the surgeon checks you over before you head to Istanbul airport for the flight home.
In the gallery above you'll find cases treated for fat alone and cases combined with a chin implant, taken seven to nine months after surgery. Look at the profile views in particular. A good result shows a crisp angle under the jaw, with the neck still looking soft and natural rather than tight.
Reviews written around the three-month mark are the ones to trust, since the swelling and hardness have settled by then. Pictures taken earlier tend to look puffier than the result will be. If a clinic shows you before and after shots, ask when the after was taken.
Send us one photo straight on, one in true profile, and one looking slightly upward. Tell us how old you are, whether your weight has been steady, and about any earlier treatment here, injections included. One of our facial surgeons will then say plainly whether chin liposuction in Turkey is the right call in your case, or whether a chin implant or a neck lift would do more. For how the operation works across the rest of the body, see our main liposuction page.
