Istanbul, Turkey — 2 Days in Hospital, Then a Year With Us
The Surgery Removes the Stomach. It Doesn’t Remove the Decisions.
The piece they take out is the piece that makes you hungry. Not smaller portions by willpower — less appetite by anatomy, permanently. €2,600 published, two days in hospital, and a year of dietitian follow-up that is neither optional nor extra.
Sleeve cases from our Istanbul facility, shared with written consent and dated, because the weight comes off over months rather than weeks. Results vary widely.

Around 80 to 90% of the stomach is cut away and taken out, leaving a narrow tube roughly the width of a banana. Nothing is rerouted and nothing is left inside you. Two things change at once: how much fits, and how hungry you feel.

Permanent · laparoscopic · general anaesthetic
Four small incisions, a camera, and a stapler. The outer curve of the stomach is divided and removed, and the staple line is reinforced. It takes three to four hours. The part taken out is also the part that produces most of your ghrelin, the hormone that makes you hungry — which is why the sleeve works for people whom dieting has repeatedly failed. It cannot be reversed, because the removed stomach is gone.
BMI above 35, or 30–35 alongside a condition such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure
€2,600 as published, against €11,600–€13,300 in the UK.

Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr Emre G. qualified in medicine at Uludağ University in 2007 and completed his specialist training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Bezmialem Vakıf University between 2008 and 2014, with a research post at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He has worked in both public hospitals and private practice, and the reconstructive half of that training shows in how he plans an aesthetic case. He practises at Natural Clinic in Istanbul.
Education
The operation is the short part. What decides whether this works is the next two years — the diet stages, the supplements, the blood tests, the dietitian you can actually reach. Ask any clinic, here or anywhere, what that support looks like at month nine before you ask what the surgery costs.

Sleeve gastrectomy is the most performed weight loss operation in the world — and it is performed here daily.

About 80–90% of the stomach is removed laparoscopically. It doesn't grow back.
Diabetes or high blood pressure can qualify a lower BMI.
The removed section produces most of the hormone that drives hunger.
Keyhole surgery under general anaesthesia, followed by nursing observation.
Vitamins and periodic blood tests prevent quiet deficiencies.
Results vary widely and aren't guaranteed; habits decide what lasts.
The gastric sleeve removes most of the stomach. These answers explain eligibility, cost and life afterwards.
A gastric sleeve, or sleeve gastrectomy, is a keyhole operation that removes around 80 to 90 percent of the stomach, leaving a narrow, banana-shaped tube. The smaller stomach holds much less food, helping you feel full after small portions. It is one of the most widely performed weight loss operations worldwide.
The part of the stomach removed during a gastric sleeve produces most of the hormone ghrelin, which stimulates hunger. Removing it typically reduces appetite, which, together with the smaller stomach size, helps people eat less and lose weight. Many patients notice reduced hunger within days of surgery.
Eligibility for a sleeve starts at a BMI above 35, or at 30 to 35 when a weight-related illness such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure is present. Your weight history, previous attempts at weight loss and general health are reviewed before the surgeon confirms suitability.
If the sleeve is not your procedure, one of these will be. And if it is, the loose-skin question comes later — that page is here too.
Personalised Care, Just for You
Send your height, weight, medical history and what you have already tried. A surgeon replies with whether the sleeve fits your case, what it would realistically achieve, what it costs with transfers and follow-up included, and whether a bypass would serve you better. Including when the honest answer is that surgery is not the right step yet. No obligation, no cost.
