When women first write to us about breast surgery, they rarely name an operation. They describe a problem. Their breasts feel empty after breastfeeding. They've dropped. They're so heavy that bra straps dig in by lunchtime. An implant from years ago has gone hard, or they simply don't want it any more. And a fair number of our breast patients are men, unhappy with a chest that looks fuller than it should.
Each of those problems has a different answer, and the right breast surgery in Turkey depends far more on what's actually going on than on what the operation is called. This page follows those complaints one at a time. Each section names the operation that usually fits, what it costs on our list and where to read more.
"They feel empty"
Loss of volume is the most common reason women come to us. It usually shows at the top of the breast first, where a bra cup starts to gape. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss and age all do it, and some women have simply always had less volume than they'd like.
Check where the nipple is. Above the fold under the breast means the breast has lost volume without dropping, and more volume is usually the fix. Most women choose implants, through breast augmentation. A round implant is €4,000. A teardrop one is €4,500. The other route is your own fat, moved from the tummy or thighs by liposuction, for €2,500. Fat gives a smaller, softer change and needs spare fat to work with, but there's no device to look after later.
Size, by the way, doesn't change the price. So your chest width and skin set the limit, not your budget. Push past what your tissue can hold and you may see rippling or thinning in later years.
"They've dropped"
When the nipple sits level with the fold under the breast, or below it, the problem is position rather than volume. An implant on its own won't fix that. You'd get more breast, still hanging where it was.
For that you need a breast lift. Loose skin is trimmed, the breast is reshaped and the nipple goes up to where it used to be, all with what you already have. People are often surprised that it's the cheaper option on our list, at €3,500. Want fullness as well? Lift and implant together come to €4,500 or €4,900, depending on which implant shape you choose.
Here's a rough test you can do at home. Take your bra off and check where your nipples sit against the crease beneath each breast: higher, level or lower. That won't diagnose anything, but it does show you which of the two sections above is yours.
"They're too heavy"
For women with large breasts, the reason for surgery is often physical. Neck and back ache. Grooves in the shoulders from bra straps. Rashes in the fold underneath every summer. Sport that's become uncomfortable, or impossible.
With a breast reduction, the surgeon takes away tissue and skin and lifts the breast in the same sitting. You don't pay extra for the lift; the whole thing is €3,500, just like a lift alone. One thing to do before shopping around: ask your own health service whether it would cover you. Reduction is the only breast operation that publicly funded systems will sometimes pay for, since back pain and rashes are medical problems, not vanity.
"My implants are a problem"
Many women come to us with implants placed years ago. Some have had them hardened by a tight capsule. For some, a scan has shown a rupture. Others want a different size, or have simply changed their minds about having implants at all.
Swapping implants for new ones is covered on our breast revision page, and an exchange costs €4,000. Taking them out for good is covered on our breast implant removal page, at €4,500. That figure is higher than the cost of putting implants in, and there's a reason. The scar tissue capsule around the implant has to be dealt with, and the breast that has been stretched around it usually needs reshaping once it's gone.
"It's my chest" (for men)
Enlarged breast tissue in men, called gynecomastia, is far more common than most men realise. Sometimes the fullness is fat, which liposuction can remove. Often there's also a firm disc of gland tissue behind the nipple, which has to be cut out, because suction alone leaves it behind.
All of our gynecomastia options cost €3,500, whatever technique your chest needs, and VASER ultrasound is included at no extra charge. One important point: a chest that has grown recently, on one side only, or with a lump or pain, needs checking by a doctor before any cosmetic surgery is planned.
Nipple and areola surgery
Some concerns are smaller than a whole operation. Nipples that point inwards, areolas that have stretched wide after breastfeeding, or one nipple that sits differently from the other can all be corrected on their own. Nipple surgery is €2,500 on our list. It can be done on its own or added to a lift or augmentation. It's a smaller operation, but scars and changes in sensation are still discussed beforehand, especially if you hope to breastfeed later.
Breast surgery cost in Turkey
Every breast operation we offer has a published price. Here they are together:
A breast lift costs €3,500, and so does a reduction with the lift included. Augmentation is €4,000 for round implants, €4,500 for teardrop. Combining a lift with implants costs €4,500 (round) or €4,900 (teardrop). Fat transfer to the breast and nipple surgery are €2,500 each. An implant exchange is €4,000 and implant removal is €4,500. Gynecomastia is €3,500.
Every figure covers your surgical team, one hospital night and your surgical bra or garment. Airport transfers and a translator are included as well, with follow-up appointments running for a year. Hotel stays are arranged by us and charged separately. Whatever you choose, you'll have the final figure in writing before booking a flight.
To give a sense of the difference, a breast lift typically costs €6,450 to €10,800 in the UK, and augmentation €6,415 to €9,807, according to the price tables on our individual pages. The gap comes from lower running costs in Turkey and the exchange rate. They say nothing on their own about quality, which is why the questions further down this page matter more than the price.
Round or teardrop implants?
A round implant has the same shape all the way round, so turning it changes nothing. Teardrop implants carry more volume low down and less at the top. Some women prefer that look, and it adds €500. The downside? A teardrop can turn inside its pocket, and fixing that takes surgery. Once things have settled, many women can't tell the two shapes apart anyway. Choose the one you can give a reason for.
Breast implant lifespan
There's no fixed lifespan. If a clinic quotes you one, it's a guess. Here's what does happen. Scar tissue forms a capsule around every implant, without exception. For some women that capsule contracts as the years go by; the breast gets harder and may eventually change shape. A silicone implant can also split without you noticing anything, so periodic scans make sense. And with textured implants specifically, there's a link to BIA-ALCL, an uncommon lymphoma that usually appears as swelling long after surgery.
That's not an argument against implants. It just means an augmentation is more like a long-term arrangement than a single purchase. We hand you the manufacturer's card on the way out. It records the make, model and size inside you, so file it with your passport and keep it for good.
When to wait
More children planned? Then waiting usually makes sense. Every pregnancy changes the breasts, and so does every round of breastfeeding. A lift or reduction done before them may need repeating. Augmentation is less affected, but not entirely. Breastfeeding is usually possible after an augmentation. A large reduction can make it impossible. Let us know if feeding is important to you. When there are no more babies planned, breast surgery and a tummy tuck can be combined in a mommy makeover.
Recovery and nights in Istanbul
Every breast operation involves one night in hospital. After a lift, reduction or augmentation, plan on six nights in the city. After implant removal, an exchange, fat transfer, nipple surgery or gynecomastia, it's usually five.
It feels tight and heavy rather than truly painful, and the worst of it is over within three to five days. The surgical bra stays on, night and day, for several weeks. After a week, most people can manage office work again. Hold off on reaching above your head, and leave underwired bras in the drawer, until your surgeon says otherwise. Implants usually look a little high and feel hard to begin with. Over the following weeks they settle lower and soften.
Looking at breast surgery before and after photos
Start with the date on each before and after pair. Breasts need three to six months to settle; scars need closer to a year. Six weeks in, what you're mostly seeing is swelling. Then look closely: where the nipples sit, whether the two sides match, how the top of each breast is shaped. Plenty of galleries are mostly implants, which tells you a clinic can augment. Ask for lift-only results too, and some that are years old.
The reviews worth reading come from people twelve months or more after their operation. By then they know how the shape and the scars have turned out.
Questions before breast surgery in Turkey
Find out from the surgeon whether your nipple position means you need a lift. If you're having implants, you want the brand, model, profile and size on paper, and the implant card in your hand when you leave. Check the removal price too, in case you ever want them out. And ask to see one-year results, including lifts done without implants. A clinic that answers those clearly is assessing you, not just selling an operation. That's what good breast surgery in Turkey should look like.
