Chin Implant in Istanbul · €4,200
A few millimetres at the chin can change how your whole profile reads.
A chin implant adds forward projection with a shaped silicone implant, secured with two small screws so it stays in position. It costs €4,200 and is often paired with rhinoplasty to balance the profile.

Chin implants get presented as the simpler, gentler alternative to genioplasty because they can be taken out again. That is accurate and it is incomplete. Being able to correct a sizing error later does not make the first sizing matter less — and the chin sits in the exact middle of your face, where a couple of millimetres shows.

€4,200, including the implant and its two-screw fixation
Your own bone is never cut. The implant sits over it, held by two screws, and it can be exchanged for a different size or removed entirely years later without having permanently altered anything underneath. If your preferences change, or the size turns out wrong, there is a way back — which is exactly what genioplasty cannot offer, and a legitimate reason to choose this instead.
A chin that needs projection but is already centred — where volume, not bone position, is the problem.
From €4,200. The bone is never cut, so the implant can be exchanged or removed later.
Short answer: yes, and what to verify is sizing. Almost anyone can place an implant; the difference between a good and a poor result is whether the size came from measuring your face or from a shelf. Ask how the figure will be arrived at, and whether the implant is fixed with screws.

A chin implant is the simpler of the two chin options — as long as projection is the only thing you need.
An implant adds projection but cannot lengthen or shorten the chin.
Size and shape are chosen by comparing options against your side view.
The implant is fixed in a tight pocket through an under-chin or intraoral incision.
A supportive dressing holds the implant in position; the new contour emerges over one to three months.
How a chin implant is sized and placed, and what recovery looks like.
A chin implant is a shaped, medical-grade implant placed over the front of the chin bone to increase its forward projection. It is used to strengthen a small or receding chin and improve the balance of the profile without cutting or moving the bone itself.
A chin implant generally suits people with a mildly to moderately receding chin, a normal bite and a chin height that does not need changing. If the chin needs to move vertically, sideways or by a large amount, genioplasty is usually a better option.
Implant size and shape are selected by assessing your side profile, the relationship between your chin, lips and nose, and your facial proportions. Sizers may be used to compare options, so the final implant enhances your profile without looking oversized.
The cost of a chin implant depends on the implant type and size and on whether it is combined with another procedure, such as rhinoplasty. After your profile is assessed, the confirmed price, including the implant, anaesthesia and follow-up, is provided in writing before you travel.
A chin implant is usually a simpler and quicker operation than genioplasty, because no bone is cut. However, it can only add forward projection, so it is the more economical choice only when your chin does not need the wider range of movement that genioplasty offers.
Yes. The implant, the surgery, the anaesthesia and the follow-up appointments are included in the quoted chin implant price. Your written plan names the type and size of implant planned for you before the operation. Any additional procedures are itemised separately.
A chin implant is placed either through a small incision under the chin, which leaves a fine scar in a natural shadow, or through an incision inside the mouth, which leaves no external scar. Your surgeon recommends the approach that best suits your anatomy.
A chin implant is placed in a snug pocket over the bone and may be secured to prevent movement. Displacement is uncommon, but it can occur, particularly early on, which is why supportive taping and avoiding pressure on the chin are recommended during healing.
Most issues after a chin implant are short-lived: swelling, bruising and temporary numbness of the chin skin. The implant-specific concerns are infection and the implant shifting from its pocket, and rarely the bone beneath can remodel over years. If infection develops, the implant may need removing and replacing once healing is complete. Good wound hygiene reduces the risk of infection.
Chin implant surgery is a relatively short procedure compared with most facial operations, particularly when performed on its own. Your surgeon gives an estimated operating time, which may be longer if the implant is placed as part of a combined procedure.
Most chin implant patients stay about a week, which allows the surgeon to check the incision and implant position and remove any stitches before you fly. If the implant is combined with rhinoplasty, the stay follows the longer rhinoplasty schedule.
Many people return to office work around a week after chin implant surgery, once swelling has eased. Activities that could knock the chin, such as contact sports, should be avoided until your surgeon confirms the implant has settled. Sleeping on your back also helps avoid pressure on the implant.
Most swelling after a chin implant improves within the first few weeks, allowing the new profile to become visible. Residual swelling can take one to three months to resolve completely, after which the final contour can be judged. Follow-up reviews confirm that the implant is sitting correctly.
Once healed, a well-positioned chin implant usually feels firm and natural to the touch, similar to the underlying bone. Some patients are aware of it in the early weeks, but this sensation typically fades as swelling settles. Temporary numbness of the chin skin can also take a few weeks to resolve.
Yes. A chin implant can be removed or exchanged for a different size if needed, for example because of infection, displacement or a change in preference. This reversibility is one of the practical differences between implants and genioplasty. Removal usually restores the chin close to its original shape.
The hub page compares all three chin approaches side by side, and the two links after it are the operations an implant cannot replace. Rhinoplasty follows because chin and nose projection are read against each other in every profile.

Chin implants are often framed as the simpler, lower-stakes alternative to genioplasty because they are reversible. That framing is true and incomplete. Reversibility means a sizing error can be corrected later; it does not make the first attempt matter less, and the chin's central position means even a modest error is genuinely visible.

The line under our heading is meant literally. On a chin, three or four millimetres changes how the nose looks from the side, and even how the neck sits in photos. That's why a chin implant in Turkey is worth getting right, even though it's the simpler of the two chin operations.
If you haven't decided between an implant and moving the bone, the chin surgery overview is the place to start. Here we're assuming the chin is straight and a decent shape, and simply needs more projection.
Ours are solid, medical-grade silicone. Silicone has a long track record in the chin, and the surgeon can trim it during the operation. It's also easy to take out. Some clinics use porous implants that tissue grows into; they grip well but are hard to remove, so we don't.
The typical candidate has a chin that sits back from the lips but is otherwise fine. The bite is normal and the chin is centred, at the right height. Most are in good general health and can stop smoking for a while around surgery. If you have a tooth or gum infection, it needs clearing before an implant goes in through the mouth.
If your chin needs to get shorter, longer or straighter, an implant won't do it, and we'll say so early.
Implants come in a range of sizes and in two broad shapes. A small central implant only builds the point of the chin. An extended one wraps a little way along the jaw on each side, which gives a smoother, more natural line and avoids the "button" look. Most of our patients end up with an extended shape, sized to their own face.
Width matters too. We also settle the width with you, using your photos; wide implants square the chin off, slimmer ones don't. A profile you admire is worth sending along, even though your own face may need something different.
Without fixation an implant can slowly slide, usually upwards. Two tiny screws into the bone hold it in place, and they can't be felt. Not every clinic uses them, so ask.
Your profile is measured against the nose, lips and jaw, and we agree the projection in millimetres before you fly. In theatre, sizers are tried against the bone first.
Most unhappy implant patients have one that's too big. It looks stuck on, and can make a face look heavy. Because the chin sits on the centre line of your face, a small sideways slip is easy to see, so we mark the midline first and line the implant up with it. A chin bone that's already off-centre is a job for genioplasty.
That comes down to size and shape more than anything. An extended implant that blends into the jaw, sized a little on the modest side, usually just makes people look more balanced. Friends tend to notice that something's better without spotting what.
Men's implants are often a little wider and squarer, so the chin lines up with a stronger jaw. The shape is picked to suit the face, though, and some men suit a narrower one. A beard doesn't affect the operation, but if the route under the chin is used, the small scar sits where stubble grows.
You can go in two ways. Going through the inside of the lower lip hides the scar completely, but it carries a slightly higher infection risk. The other is a short cut in the crease under the chin. That avoids the mouth altogether and gives the surgeon a straight view for centring.
The under-chin cut is short, sits in the shadow below the jaw and usually fades to a fine pale line within a few months. Neither route is right for everyone. We'll suggest one based on your teeth and the implant size, and explain why.
The mental nerve leaves the bone on each side of the chin and supplies your lower lip. The pocket for the implant is made close to it, so the nerve is found and kept out of the way throughout. A numb or tingly lip for a few weeks is still common, and it nearly always goes.
Expect pressure and tightness rather than pain, with a tape dressing on the chin for a few days. If the cut was inside your mouth you'll rinse after meals; stitches under the chin that don't dissolve come out at five to seven days.
You'll stay in hospital briefly after surgery and then around five to seven nights in Istanbul, which covers the examination, the operation, removing any stitches and a final check around a week after surgery, before your flight. Bruising usually fades in one to two weeks, and normal life usually resumes at about two weeks. The chin's final contour shows over one to three months as the last swelling goes.
Contact sport, or anything else likely to hit the chin, should wait until your surgeon says the area has firmed up.
Once the dressing is off and the bruising has faded, most people are comfortable going back to a desk job, often around a week to ten days after surgery. Physical work can take a little longer. You can walk about from day one, and the gym can usually start again after a few weeks, once the surgeon is happy with how it's healing.
Pressing on your chin, you might feel a slightly firmer edge underneath at first. Over the following months a thin layer of tissue forms around the implant and it starts to feel like part of the chin. Most people stop noticing it entirely, and partners or friends who touch the chin rarely realise anything is there.
Infection is the one surgeons watch for most, which is why antibiotics are given and the mouth is kept clean if that route was used. Screws make shifting unlikely. A slight unevenness can appear once the swelling has gone, and now and then needs a small correction. Long-term bone thinning under the implant is rare and seldom a problem. If redness or swelling increases after the first few days, or you get a fever, ring us.
This is the real advantage of a chin implant over moving bone. If the size turns out wrong, or your taste changes in ten years, the implant can be swapped for another or taken out completely. Your own bone hasn't been cut, so nothing permanent has been altered.
That said, chin implant removal is still an operation, with another anaesthetic and another trip. Reversibility is a safety net, not a reason to rush the sizing. If you're thinking of having an older chin implant in Turkey removed or replaced after surgery elsewhere, send us whatever details you have about it.
Chin and nose are judged together in profile, so a lot of people have an implant and rhinoplasty in the same session. Both are done under one anaesthetic, and a combination discount applies to the total. Fullness under the jaw from fat can be dealt with during the same session through chin liposuction.
Side views say the most in chin implant before and after pictures. Look for a chin that lines up roughly with the lips and blends into the jaw. From the front, it should be centred and in proportion.
Ask for before and after cases with a similar starting chin to yours, and look at how long after surgery they were taken. A chin implant before and after at three months shows the settled shape far better than one taken in the first weeks. Implant patients' reviews help with the practical side, like how long the tightness lasted.
A short chin deepens the hollow that forms in front of the jowls with age. An extended implant fills it; the shape used here is longer at the sides, so it reaches the hollow without making the chin point bigger. Some people in their forties or fifties combine chin augmentation with a facelift.
Our surgeons have placed more than 800 chin implants, each sized individually and fixed with screws, with genioplasty and liposuction done in the same building. That matters because the recommendation isn't limited by what we can offer. If a chin implant in Turkey is right for you, you'll hear why, and if it isn't, you'll hear that too.
For forward projection alone, an implant is the smaller operation, with a quicker recovery and a fixed price. It can also be taken out later. Genioplasty involves cutting bone, takes longer to heal and is quoted after a scan, but it's the only option if the chin needs to change length or move to the middle. If both would work for you, we'll usually suggest the implant.
A chin implant in Turkey costs €4,200 with us. That price includes the silicone implant and both screws, with the anaesthetic and hospital stay also covered, as well as airport pick-ups, an interpreter, and video check-ins for the first year. When paired with rhinoplasty, the combination discount lowers the total.
The table above shows typical chin implant prices abroad. Some clinics quote the operation and add the implant itself or its fixation afterwards, so check what any other chin implant price covers before you compare.
It's designed to stay for life. The implant won't wear out, though the face around it keeps ageing. Most people with a well-sized chin implant in Istanbul never need another operation.
