The back is counted as two treatment zones: the upper back with the bra line, and the lower back. What most people want removed is the discrete fibrous roll at the band rather than the width of the back, which is set by ribcage and frame and which no operation reduces.
The densest fat on the body
A defined pad of fibrous fat lying against thick, tight skin, which is why it responds to a cannula better than almost anything else on the trunk. Back fat is the densest we aspirate anywhere, and this is the one region where the ultrasound fee reliably earns its place.

Why back liposuction can cost less than a lift, and how firmer back fat is treated.
Back liposuction removes excess fat from the upper and lower back, including rolls around the bra line and the area just above the waist. It smooths the back's contour so clothing, especially fitted tops and dresses, sits more evenly. The upper and lower back are usually counted as separate zones.
Back liposuction works best for rolls of fat around the bra line or above the waistband that stay despite training, provided the skin over them is still elastic. A quick pinch test shows this: skin that snaps back suggests fat removal will be enough, while slack skin points towards a back lift instead.
If the skin on your back hangs in folds or does not recoil after being pinched, often following major weight loss, removing fat alone may not give a smooth result. In that case, a back lift, which removes excess skin, is usually more effective.
